The Montoya Family

Sequoia and Danny’s son Jameson is 2 months old and has been in the hospital (CHLA) since the day he was born. He was born with Pierre Robin Sequence. He has a cleft palate and will need surgery when he is about 10 months to 1 year old. Part of what he is diagnosed with is an underdeveloped lower jaw causing him to not be able to swallow properly. He has had 3 surgeries already which included some to fix his jaw and to place a feeding tube and will need a couple more. As the doctors try and prepare him to be able to come home, he will be fed through his feeding tube and go through a few more tests to make sure it’s safe for him to finally come home. If all of this isn’t stressful enough, the studios being on strike has caused Danny to find another job that does not offer what he was receiving before AND Sequoia was denied an extension on her maternity leave so they had her apply for baby bonding time which was said to take weeks to process. With Jameson possibly coming home soon, they are going to need time as a family and get adjusted with their new lifestyle at home with Joel (4) and Jameson. Sequoia can’t go back to work yet when their baby isn’t even home and upcoming surgeries and appointments to attend to. As family we are doing everything we can to help but none of us are in the position to financially assist enough to help ease the stress and financial burden. Any assistance you can provide would be so greatly appreciated.
