My youngest brother, John Vernon, has been fighting for his life the past 3 years. In December 2022 he was diagnosed with Mantel Cell Lymphoma. With treatment he was able to go into remission, which gave us hope for his recovery. However, as a side effect of those treatments he has now developed Leukemia. His treatments have been extremely aggressive, and at this point the only option left for any chance of survival is a bone marrow transplant, which is scheduled for December 5th, in Bethesda, Maryland. He and his wife, Sandra, will be temporarily moving to Maryland on November 25th, and he will remain in the hospital for 3-4 weeks after surgery. After his release from the hospital they will have to stay for another three months (minimum), before they can return to their home in Martinsville, Virginia. That is four months that they will both be out of work and away from their family and home!!! Needless to say, they desperately need financial help for the costs associated with day to day needs to cover travel, food and housing while John receives the treatment needed to continue his fight against leukemia. If you are in a position to do so, please help...or at least share this message with your friends and family so they can help us raise these much needed funds. We are all eternally grateful for your thoughts and prayers as well. Thank you!
~ Wanda Vernon
