Give Ben a Helping Hand and Back on His Feet
Donation protected
Mid-December, my oldest brother, Ben, was diagnosed with a variant of Guillian-Barré syndrome called Miller Fisher, a nerve disease that affects muscle coordination. The diagnosis came after a very hectic couple of weeks of first being dizzy, to not being able to walk, and finally not being able to crawl and having trouble breathing. He has been hospitalized since then and is currently intubated because his vocal cord muscle can't maintain an open airway.
His wife, Pam, has given it her best being by his side and supporting him. They have 3 teenage kids at home and a foreign exchange student and are doing their best to keep everything together during this most difficult time - especially during the holidays. Ben is showing promising signs of being able to squeeze Pam's hand and also slightly nod his head. With a long road ahead (possibly a few more months in the hospital and rehab) and with Ben not at work, we're hoping to raise funds to cover medical expenses as well as living expenses to help them out during this time of great need. Really, anything you can give would be greatly appreciated!
We'll also be posting updates as we get them. For now, Pam is the only person they will allow in to see and be with Ben. We would also greatly appreciate your prayers on their behalf! Thank you!
Also, if you would like to donate using Venmo, here is the info for that:
