Helping Our Brother Out w/ Funeral

Donation protected
Birth. Death. Polar opposites, and yet the representative bookends containing any manner of life fully expressed therein, and more. Birth. Death. The only two apparent guarantees in life, and yet neither are easily (or ever really) prepared for.

Chris Monioz has been one of my best friends since we were 5-6 years old, and now he’s the first of my monolithic mates to be charged with the responsibility and devastating privilege of managing the passing of a parent. His beloved mother Zurlene has boldly, bravely, and graciously engaged a rematch with a cancer that isn’t going to throw in its towel.

You’ve perhaps already seen and/or donated to the other GFM post circulating social media platforms (and bless you for your compassionate love and support, and definitely don’t feel obliged to double down); but please note that Chris isn’t directly presiding over the previous account and has therefore requested my assistance in erecting this new one. Rest assuredly that no contributions to the former will fall amiss of their proper destination, this just provides Chris a smoother and more direct supervision over appropriating any funds received hereafter to eventual and imminent matters such as funeral arrangements, etc.

The immensity of gratitude found here can only attempt to be outweighed by the gravity of its relative reality. Some believe that we ultimately live and die alone, cut off from one another like remote islands anchored seas apart, no matter how closely we interact throughout our lives together… I know that’s not true. My friend, and yours, will not and is not bearing this burden of life and death and love alone. Money, great. Prayers, super bitchin’. Thoughts, groovy. Posts, words, feelings - all amazing, all of it important, forever. But if you can spare a dime, that additionally helps for now, and for getting through now to forever. If your dimes are thin, however;  those words, thoughts, feelings, and prayers are quite thick enough, fore sure :).

Thank you. Thank you so very much. Your support truly is everlasting amidst this sea of briefly interacting islands.

Rest easy, Zurelene. And save us a pillow :). We love you, we love your kids, and we love your grandkids.
