Champion Charles!
From Jesse and James!
On December 3rd 2019, Our lives were turned completely upside down.
Charles was diagnosed with Actute lymphobic luekemia. We were transferred to Syndey Westmead children's Hospital and we've been here for the last 4.5 months.
We have been blessed in that a place in the Ronald Mcdonald House had opened up... even though it was full! So we have acommodation in sydney Ronald McDonald house and a crack oncology team to help with the medical side of things. Treatment will take 2 years to complete and has a 90% cure rate!
So far Charles is responding very well to treatments. The first 7 weeks were the hardest as Charlie was very sick,
But charlie is a fighter and he has VERY united parents and doctors on his side. We will win.
Our family will be in Sydney until Drs say we can go home. That could be in a month or in several. But regardless there will be lots of back and forth to Sydney, constant checkups and monitoring over the next 2 years. The element of not knowing can be tricky and frustrating but what we do know is that we are a strong family. We take each day as it comes.
Thank you for supporting us in this unexpected journey we find ourselves in.
Love James, Jesse , Abbie and Charlie
