Hello, not sure if I have mentioned it before but I like to run! So I have decided to run the London Marathon on Sunday 27th April 2025. Why you say? Several reasons to be honest but I wanted to raise some money to help out a couple of charities. This first is NHS Blood and Transplant Charity Fund in memory of a good friend of mine John Crowther (PC 315) who sadly passed away over 10 years ago now. John was passionate about donating blood and did this regularly, I think the cup of tea and custard creams after did encourage him! John was a great family man, amazing friend and the best old school bobby I have worked with. He is sadly missed.

The second is a local charity Friends of Silkstone Common School which was set up by several people in my village to raise funds for the local school where both William and Eve go. Kicking and screaming some mornings! The trustees have given up lots of their own time to run this and are regularly trying to raise money to benefit the children at the school now and in the future. Both charities mean a lot to me and my family and funds I raise will be split between them. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, many thanks Simon
