Its never easy to ask others for finacial help, but here goes nothing...
On August 24,2014 my mom was having a hard time with here speech and finiding words. We ended up taking her to the ER to make sure she wasnt having a stroke. They decided to do a CT scan just to check it all out. That was the moment that changed all of our lives forever. She had a brain tumor in her frontal lobe, that needed immediate surgery. She had brain surgery 4 days later, and once she woke up she was left unable to talk. She can comprehend everything but unable to communicate as she once did. As a teacher for Learning disorders this side effect was more than devestating.
After a few weeks we received word that her tumor was a stage III Anaplastic Astrocytoma. She began radiation treatments and finished December 8th. All the while she was in speech therapy several times a week to work on getting back the one thing we all take for granted, her ability to comminucate.
Since radiation, her tumor site reamins stable; however due to the radiation she has developed necrosis which has caused extrememe swelling in her brain.
On April 13, 2015 this swelling led to a siezure that has since left her right side weak and unable to move. As of yesterday she was unable to walk at all. We are in the process of researching and gathering information so we can find our next step.
She has given her life to helping so many others and now it is time to give back and help her. She is SO important to us, and we are very confident that we can get to the otherside of this.
Due to the recent events of the past few weeks, my father has had to focus on my mom and her care as well as Dr appointments. This has given him little time to focus on his work and has caused extra stress in the already stressful situation. I am asking for any finacial help that can be given. It will be used solely for bills and the increasing medical expenses, so we can focus on getting her well.
Thanks to All
Jackie
