Team Sophia

Sophia Grace Valadez was born extremely premature at 25 weeks gestation weighing 1 lb 8 oz and measuring 13 inches long. She truly is a miracle! Sophia has endured so much in her young life, emergency surgeries after birth, lung failure, breathing tubes for 2 months, spending the first 131 days of her life in the NICU. Because of the breathing tube Sophia's airway remained small and she will need airway reconstructive surgery (laryngotracheal reconstruction) she's already had 2 bronchoscopes done, one triple scope, and tonsil and adenoid removal. Sophia is scheduled for surgery in the morning, an 8 hour surgery and will remain in an induced coma for 2 weeks, being that the first 2 weeks are critical. Sophia will hopefully come home before Christmas. Sophia has a long recovery ahead of her. Her parents Nikki and Edwin will be by her side, but there time away from work is without pay.  No amount is to small to help this family during Sophia's long recovery.
