Riddik's Medical and Rehab Fund
Hello Everyone,
I am writing this on behalf of my brother and sister-in-law. Those who know my brother, Jason Morin and Sister-in-Law, Laurie Enders know that their animals are their life and their children. They have chosen to only provide me with fur nephews and I love both Riddik (AKA Donks) and Ryno with all my heart. This is why I am reaching out to all dog lovers and friends and family on behalf of them.
Momma's boy
A man's best friend
On Saturday night April 25th, Riddik was having a rough night and they knew something was just not right but they had no idea what was about to come . In the early morning hours, my brother called Riddik but Riddick didn't come because he couldn't get up. Riddik was paralyzed. He put an emergency call out to his vet who confirmed that Riddik needed a CT scan and surgery but unfortunately no veterinarian hospital in Winnipeg performs these two procedures.
Quickly Jay and Laurie got pain meds to keep Riddik comfortable and made the 16 hour drive to Calgary to have a specialist look at Riddik. The CT scan revealed that Riddik had a calcified disc from a previous back injury that shifted and was applying pressure to his nerve. A surgery was performed to shave and clean up the calcification relieving the pressure.
Back surgery to relieve the pressure on his nerve that caused him to be paralyzed.Donks has had the surgery but will have to undergo physical therapy to see if he will ever regain the mobility of his hind legs.
Donks and his partner in crime..... his brother Ryno!
2 peas in a pod.
As much as Jay and Laurie have contributed to everyone else's life, we would greatly appreciate a donation that would help support this difficult time for their family as their "child" is in need. Remember no gift is too small! Any amount will help relieve some of the financial burden.
Thank you for taking the time to read this page. We will keep you posted on his long road to recovery.
Thanks
Renee
