Help Jet

This man loves his children and needs love and support during this time! Unfortunately, daily and monthly costs keep coming in whether one is healthy or sick!
  • Jet with son!

I’m starting this GoFundMe for my son, Jet Tilton, who is going through cancer treatment for a second time. He is 56, and has two children, ages 15 and 13.
Jet was declared cancer free in 2019, and all was going well until he had problems swallowing this past October. A trip to the hospital for a swallow test ended up revealing a mass at the base of the esophagus, and a tear in the esophagus, which was letting food get to places in the body it shouldn’t go to! He got a stent so he could eat and drink, and was able to start chemo, but a week later anything he ate or drank was violently thrown up. Another trip to the ER at Medical City Plano revealed more bad news. The mass was now blocking the esophagus, and there was a hole in the lung. A J-tube was inserted into the small intestine, and this is the ONLY way he can get nutrition and water daily and takes all night to get into the body.
He is getting chemotherapy and immunotherapy currently at Texas Oncology. Radiation and surgery are also planned later in treatment.
Your donations will help Jet with expenses such as co-payments for treatment and scans, daily expenses, household expenses, and his insurance premium. He was in the process of finding a full-time job when he was sidelined by his illness, and cannot work due to side effects from chemotherapy like fatigue and back pain issues.
As Joseph (Jet) Tilton's mother, this is the hardest thing I have had to face & ask for help! Because he is unable to work, just the normal day-to-day living gets costly! Insurance has quadrupled, utilities and medical bills as well. Chemo is very expensive and time-consuming & takes 4- 6 hours at a time. He has been such a strong person going through so many tests & hospital visits and now cannot even eat nor drink anything until the tumor hopefully, shrinks and can be removed from his esophagus. He is in stage 4. Imagine life like that! (He said he dreams of food!)
Thank you so very much for anything you can do! We know everything is in God's Hands, but anything helps! Prayers are also needed! God bless you!
