Traverse City Youth Football Association is a 501c3 non-profit managed by a Board of parent volunteers to provide a FUN, SAFE and POSITIVE tackle football experience for 3rd thru 6th grade students in Traverse City that isn’t able to be provided by our schools in these grade levels. TCYFA is not governed or funded by the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA, LEAP, TCAPS or GTACS. TCYFA has no paid staff. All of our funds directly benefit players and make youth football sustainable.
TCYFA pays 100% of the cost to operate a safe tackle football season via registration fees & this fundraiser.
TCYFA provides each player the use of approximately $400+ of up to date equipment for the season (helmet, shoulder pads, practice pants, socks and uniforms). TCYFA also buys tackling wheels, dummies, footballs and other practice gear for each team in addition to insurance, officials fees, field use fees and other costs.
This year TCYFA is specifically raising funds to increase our amount of equipment to meet increasing participation levels. After adding enough basic gear for each player, we hope to continue to add to the new sets of jerseys we purchased in 2021, purchase new sets of football pants for 2022, and purchase additional tackling wheels as our league has grown from 7 teams to 12 teams.
