TCS New York City Marathon - Fred's Team
Donation protected
So many of us have had cancer touch our family and friends in one way or another.
In 2010, my family lost my dad to terminal cancer. Specifically, Small Cell Cancer of the Prostate, a rare cancer that occurs in less than 1% of all prostate cancer diagnoses. November 2023 will be our 13th year without him. He was our family's cheerleader on the sideline of every game and, in true dad fashion, never forgot to give us play-by-play feedback on the car ride home. Because of Memorial Sloan Kettering, we were gifted an extra 9 months to make memories with him.
This November, I will be running the TCS New York City Marathon with Memorial Sloan Kettering and Fred's Team to raise money for cancer research. All money donated will go to prostate cancer research in honor of my father.
If you'd like to join me in making a difference and imagining a world without cancer, any donation will make a great impact that goes far beyond the finish line.
More information on Fred’s Team, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's (MSK) running program:
In 1995, Fred’s Team was named in honor of running legend and co-founder of the New York City Marathon—Fred Lebow. In 1991, while undergoing treatment for brain cancer at MSK, he jogged through hospital hallways, determined to find a way to give back. That year, Fred encouraged runners competing in the New York City Marathon to raise money for each mile they ran, and designated MSK the first official charity of the iconic race.
Fred’s Team, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's (MSK) running program, gives every runner the opportunity to add more meaning to their miles by raising money for lifesaving cancer research at MSK. 100% of the money raised goes directly into the labs at MSK, where groundbreaking discoveries are making a real difference for people around the world.
