Help Elly see her mom again!

This is an updated fundraiser from the one I created before from our moving expenses about a year ago. The amount raised is left over from our last goaI of $3000. The first 3000 that was collected before was used for us to move, and I am putting the totals here in this way for the sake of transparency, and so that people know that we are not scamming or trying to double-dip with people. People have already been very generous and helpful to us before, but we just keep hitting massive strings of bad luck that are effectively back-breaking and debilitating. We were able to use the original $3k to relocate.

I am updating this because things have gotten bad again. I have had multiple business dealings fall through since we moved, and Elly's mother has fallen ill with what we think is a brain tumor. Because of the nature of the immigration office where we live, the only way we can get the proper paperwork to be able to leave and let Elly see her mother is by hiring a lawyer. It's extremely complicated to explain in detail, but if you reach out to either of us we will happily explain it. The short version is that the immigration office is backed up for nearly a year, and we only have a temporary permit to stay here, which automatically expires when we leave the country, but because the temporary permit is expired according to its date (because of the delays with immigration), they would let us leave but then bar us from coming back and hit us with a massive fine.

So at this point, we need assistance getting Elly an attorney. This will also cover any potential cost of travel for Elly to see her mom. I am starting on a new business project that I will be doing completely on my own, and I am also looking for private investors in this, but I will also create a kickstarter for it once it is further developed.
