Help Reem and her family

A message from Reem:

"Help us survive"

I am Reem Mohammed, a 17-year-old Palestinian girl from the ravaged Gaza Strip.

My family and I were originally living in the north of Gaza. During the ongoing genocide we were displaced to Rafah and now we are staying in Mawasi, Khan Younis.

I have an older brother who is 19 years old and two younger sisters, one is a year younger than me, the other one is 13 years old.

Amidst the bombing and destruction, we lost my father on February 4, 2024. He was the breadwinner of my family and our source of security. He is dearly missed!

We are stuck in a world without security, food and shelter with ongoing bombardments, displacements, starvation and constant fear.

I support my two sisters and my mother. I dreamed of a simple and stable future.

But instead, there is no safe place, no income, no food and water, and winter is harsh on those who have lost everything.

I now live in a tent that cannot protect us from the heat of the sun or the cold of winter. A tent that is not fit to be a shelter for a human being, but it has become our home after everything was razed to the ground.

I appeal to you from my heart to extend a helping hand.

Today, we have nothing to feed our family! We are facing starvation and the occupation shows no mercy. The famine is getting worse by the day! There's no flour, so we grind pasta to make bread to satisfy our hunger.

Prices have risen up immensely due to the lack of food and water. Nothing has been entering Gaza for weeks. 1 kg of flour, 1 liter of oil, and 1 kg of sugar cost $ 100, a single onion cost $12.

The situation is unbearable.
