Help Save Baby LiAM!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Philip Fairbanks and I am trying to help save the life of my friend in the Philippines, her baby is currently in NICU and fighting hard but the entire hospital visit will be close to $18,000 and time is of the essence. Remember, a share is as good as a donation. Below is the original text of the Facebook from Lianne Nadado and Danceresty Morfe, the parents of baby LiAM.
LiAM Daniel N. Morfe
Born: March 2, 2023 at 12:18 PM via Emergency CS
Reasons for Premature Delivery via CS:
- Doppler Ultrasound shows signs of Brain Sparing which means that not enough oxygen and nutrients are circulating in Liam’s brain that could cause developmental issues if not delivered right away
- Mother’s urinalysis shows trace of protein which is an initial sign of pre-eclampsia together with high BP
- Mother has uncontrolled BP even with medication and started to show signs of pre-eclampsia which could lead to multiple organ damage or comatose
- Doctor said that immediate delivery is needed to save both baby and mother
Condition After Delivery and Current Status:
- Liam was delivered prematurely at 34 weeks due to IUGR (IntraUterine Growth Restriction) caused by mother’s Chronic Hypertension
- Upon delivery, it was also determined that he is SGA (Small for Gestational Age) - 1.4kg only which is only equivalent to a 30 weeker
- Underdeveloped lungs due to being premature, Liam needs to be given high pressurized oxygen since he cannot sustain breathing on his own
- Xray also shows Pneumonia which is already considered as a severe complication for newborns. He is currently on first line antibiotics and will need repeat xray to see if it is working or if another type of antibiotics need to be prescribed
- Blood gas is initially showing as below normal for his gestational age so he can’t be fed right away as it might cause the digestive system to deteriorate. Already showing signs of improvement but Liam expelled blood which may be a sign of irritated stomach due to no feeding so antacid was given. If Liam is able to tolerate, small feedings at regular intervals would be started
- Liam needs to be incubated for around 2 weeks to 1 month because he could not regulate his own body temperature
We are asking for your PRAYERS and FINANCIAL SUPPORT as we were advised that we will need to raise at least ONE MILLION PESOS ($18,102 USD) for Liam’s treatment.
Any amount will do and will be greatly appreciated.
