Hurricane Ian Recovery

Hi Friends, my name is Christine Morrissey, I live in North Port, FL, and I am raising funds for myself and my family following the severe flooding of our home from Hurricane Ian. 

We were in our home when the hurricane hit our area almost directly on Wed, Sept 28th, at 155+ miles/hr sustained and stayed for hours. Our neighborhood ended up with the worst flooding in the city. My husband Richard and I had to be rescued by boat as the water was quickly rising, along with our two cats and neighbors, and then we took a bus to a shelter. We were devastated when we finally had access to our home ten days later. We have lost our cars, most of our belongings, and our house as we knew it. Every day since then, our daughter Charlotte, Richard, and I have been going to our house trying to salvage what we can, tearing out walls, and throwing out furniture. Our home is currently uninhabitable. It has been heartbreaking. We have been reminded to appreciate the smallest kindnesses and are lucky to have loving family members and friends. We plan to use any funds we receive for food and lodging while working on our home. We are so grateful for your prayers and any financial support you are able to give.
