Hello, my name is James. I am a former firefighter and EMT, and I had a heart attack in January 2025. Recently, it was discovered that I will need open-heart surgery. With this surgery, it is expected I will make a full recovery; however, without it, my doctor says that there is a strong chance that I will have another heart attack in the next few months that has a high chance to be fatal. Thankfully, my insurance will cover it, but it won't cover the 4 months of recovery, during which I will be unable to work. Like most of you, I am not in the best of financial situations.
