Help Bring River Home

Well, hello! My name is River and it sure is nice to meet you! I’m a big guy with an even bigger heart. I care so much about others and I was raised to be a helper! I have worked really hard with a great trainer who taught me the absolute best manners! I have gone through months of training to become a service dog and I couldn’t be more excited!

Recently, I met a little boy and we hit it off right from the start! He has become my best friend! With my help, he has already been able to go to new, unfamiliar places, walk long distances (we have already been hiking and to a really big zoo together!), and find new ways to remain calm in tough situations.

You see, my best friend has been through a lot. He has seen many specialists but no one has been able to give his parents answers. He has a pretty hard time with fatigue and he gets tired easily. This makes walking difficult at times and certainly makes longer distances (like the big zoo!) really challenging. Good thing I’m a big guy and I can provide the support he needs when he gets tired. I also help make sure he is taking breaks when he needs them. My boy also has some difficulties with mobility due to a weakness in his left side, as well as vision difficulties. Thankfully, I am here to help him safely navigate those tricky environments he may not be familiar with. I stabilize him if he stumbles and ensure that he doesn’t walk too closely to objects or people he may not see. My boy also has a lot of anxiety. Anxiety that stops him from participating in activities that he enjoys. Anxiety that makes him feel so out of control that his parents were unsure of how to help him. Thankfully they found me! I am a giant, just heavy enough, snuggle bug! I know when my boy is becoming anxious and I spring into action! I help him breathe better, provide deep pressure, and am there with him for every moment that he needs me. With me by his side he is never ever alone in a time that feels scary!

We really are the best of friends already, my boy and me. I love him so much and can’t wait to live with him all the time! The thing is, a guy as great as me doesn’t come along that often. Which means even though everyone says I am worth every penny, I cost a lot to fully adopt. Please, can you help bring me home to my boy?
