I'm trying to raise money for my best friend (23). We met last year in college and found that we have very similar financial situations. It's something that we have bonded over. I became homeless 7 months ago and she's been there for me throughout the whole ongoing process. Now it's her turn. She and her father (62) are getting evicted on December 25th. We live on Cape Cod and the housing market is impossible. They're both employed, but the season has slowed down so her job won't schedule her. They are very limited with transportation as they have to rely on public transportation because they can't afford a car. This is making it really hard for her to find more work. It also limits the housing options they can even apply to because her father needs to be close enough to his job that he can get there by bus. They have applied to multiple organizations and rentals, and even the shelters are full. It has been hard enough going through a situation like this myself, but having to watch my best friend go through it too and be unable to help because we are in the same financial situation is awful. Having to tell someone that my only suggestion is to try to save up to get a car instead of somewhere to live because at least that's some kind of shelter was a bitter pill to swallow. I'm asking you to please consider donating whatever you can. It's getting cold and the campsites are closed for the winter.
