My name is Brenda, and I'm raising money to help cover cancer treatment expenses.
Last November, I was told I had a mass on my ovary, and on December 31st, I was diagnosed with stage 1C1 ovarian clear cell carcinoma. Because clear cell carcinoma is an aggressive and fast cancer, despite the removal of the cancer, the doctor recommended six rounds of chemotherapy. I am currently undergoing chemo and trying to work through it. Most days, I am okay, but others I have to deal with debilitating exhaustion and other side effects from the chemo.
I have a out of pocket maximum I need to cover of $2250 and I will be missing days from work. I am out of sick leave and vacation time due to being off for three surgeries and some time after my first chemo. I have four more chemo appointments, and hopefully will not miss much more work. I'm most concerned about paying the medical bills as I don't want to get behind.
I'm a single mom to two kids: one disabled and who lives at home, and the other a teenager. I work full time as a counselor and love helping other people. I'm a strong advocate for LGBTQAI+ issues and autism advocacy, as well as mental health awareness.
I hate asking for donations, but I could really use the help right now. If you would like to get something in return, visit my website where you can buy book-related merchandise: The Phoenix Nest
Thank you so much for considering a donation.
