A Ride of his Life. Mike's Perrydise Road Trip
Donation protected
As Siblings in the Perry family, we grew up with amazing parents; as many of you may know, every month, we would go camping with other church families. The camping group was called The Hohumers Lol. I wouldn't be surprised if our dad were the one who came up with the name. This love of camping began and continues to this day. Our brother Mike was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer of the Colon, Liver and Lymoth Nodes. He is the 5th family member to have been diagnosed with cancer in our family. We lost our father at the age of 56 in 1978 from a malignant brain tumor. Our oldest brother Tom, sister Joni & Mother all passed within nine months of each other ten years ago from this horrible disease. Mike works as a handyman, predominantly in Newport, Ca. where he lived up until the last five years. The complex where he lived was sold, and Mike was forced to move to Santa Ana. The move did not deter Mike in any way. He was true to his clients and would drive as far as necessary to accommodate them. They, in turn, were faithful to him. One family invited him and his dog to their family Christmas dinner. Mike being the only guest, even had him spend the night so as not to drive late at night. I have met and talked with many of these kind people throughout the years, and recently when Mike was in the hospital for two weeks. These people are not just clients; they are Mike's extended family. God Bless these people for being there when we were not able to be. Although Mike rarely has a pot to piss in, he would give you the shirt off his back. Maybe that's why he is always shirtless (wink); Lol, or when asked what he'd like to do for the remainder of his life, Mike said, " I would like to rent a motorhome, go on a road trip with some of my friends and my dogs to visit family and friends." We (the remaining family members) Patti, Diane, Randy & Mike, started this "go fund me" to help Mike's wishes come true. If you are unable to donate, prayers would be greatly appreciated. Love and Blessings! Diane Lystne, Patti O'Neill, Randy Perry and Mike Perry.
