Glory's Funeral Expenses

"This too shall pass"  . . .  This is what Mom always used to say . . .  Mom has always been here by my side not only as a mother but as a  best friend, my confident and my inspiration.  Mom tought me to be strong and conquer each challenge that was thrown my way. She got me through my darkest hours, helped me raise my kids and worked with me side by side even during her last healthy days.

My mom "Glory" was a strong woman.  The youngest of 7 children she grew up in Trinidad West Indies. Mom lost her mother at 3 years old and then was given away by her father at a very young age.  She overcame many obstacles in her life and although she had very little education, she took it upon herself to learn to sew and was a natural born seamstress.

Whatever Mom "Glory" wanted to do in life she taught herself how to do it on her own or sought out to find someone who could teach her.

Glory had very special lasting relationships. She loved her grandchildren and her family.  Glory kept close ties and was very connected to those around her.  She also had 2 dogs Peter and Ding whom she adored.

She spent her days volunteering at the church, entertaining and hosting little dinner parties, giving advice, traveling and helping others that were in need.

Glory worked for many years with me and got to be by my side at hundreds of events ,meeting some of the most amazing and influential people in the world.  She shared in my successes just as much as she helped me pick up the pieces when things werent going my way.  These are experiences and memories I will carry with me always.

The past few months have been a roller coaster ride.  Every day I would go to the hospital to see mom; we would laugh, we would cry and we would pray.

Now she is gone and I have to pick up these pieces for the first time in my life without her.  No one prepares you for this and no one could ever imagine how hard this can be.

So many decisions, arrangements and details to make.

The past several months I have barely been able to work as taking care of mom has been the priority.  Working to get by and using all of our savings for her every need.

Mom made me promise that she would be burried and would not have it any other way.

I am reaching out to all of my family, friends and aquaintences to ask for your love, support and whatever you can give to assist me with laying my Glory to rest in the way she would want it to be.

I know that my story is not unique and there are many people out there in need.

Glory and I have always lived our lives giving back, paying it forward and helping whomever we could in their time of need.

We must make these arragements in the next few days as we have to pay all of the funeral expenses and arrangements up front.

Please help me and my family raise this money so that we can take Glory and lay her to rest.

Glory is survived by me her only child, 7 grandchildren, Rick, her partner of many years and her 6 sibilings.

Your love, support, kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
