Hello, my name is Carlos. I took care of my mother for 15 years, 5 of those with dementia and 3 of those without financial help. Mother, who’s name was Rita, got diagnosed in the fall of 2017, and she has departed Earth and my side on September 18th, Sunday, during her sleep. I need help to pay for her funeral services, anything helps. Thank you.

Mother was born in Mexico and came to California for a better life and better future for her children. She owned two restaurants in the 70’s and was successful as a cook and business owner. She worked for the cannery and cleaning houses and taking care of people for 30 years, all while taking care of me. My biological parents didn’t want me and so she saved me from the system and in return, she saved her own life as I was the only one who took care of her and I did the best that I could, I owed her that and more; I owe her my life. I loved her and I miss her and she did her best to raise me into a fine young gentleman. It is from her where I got my passion for cooking. She comes from a family of twelve siblings, eight men and four women, she was the first born and is also the first to pass away.

Rita was 74 years young when she passed and succumbed to her disease, dementia. She passed away in her home, her bed, peacefully and happy.
