On April 8th, my sister, Mimi, suffered a massive brain hemorrhage that has left her in the ICU fighting for her life. This happened just as we were about to leave the funeral home where my mother’s viewing was being held, my mother passed on March 11th.
My mother’s sudden passing was and still is difficult for us to cope with, especially for Mimi, who is the oldest in our family of 8 siblings. On the night of my mother’s viewing, an artery burst in Mimi’s brain, causing major bleeding. We are still unsure of the long term effects this will have on her daily functioning, but are certain she will have a long road to recovery. She is just today (4/20) able to start breathing on her own for extended periods of time.
I am starting this GoFundMe page to help relieve some of the stress and burden her husband and 3 kids will undoubtedly feel as they navigate through this new and difficult journey with her. They will need to make major adjustments in their work schedules and home environment (most likely it will involve relocating, as Mimi will not be able to climb the steep staircase up to their home), all of this as her medical bills increase exponentially each day she is in the hospital. It is almost certain she will need to eventually go to a rehabilitation facility.
If you would like to assist with their financial burdens, any donation would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go directly to Mimi’s family for medical costs and necessary home/daily expenses for her recovery.
On behalf of E, Mimi’s husband and kids and the entire Nguyen and Quang family, we greatly appreciate the support and outpouring of love you’ve shown us over the past couple of weeks and undoubtedly, in the weeks and months to come.
