Early this morning 3/9 my Howie was attacked by 3 dogs( that I had already ran off from my house once). I tried to get him but the dog that had him ran off with him hanging in his mouth. I chased them and the dog still didn't let go. I thought for sure that was it. I drove around looking for my boy just to bring him home. I have had Howie for 8 years . He was brought to me in a sand bucket when he was a couple of days old. (I had also found my beauty girl mauled to death. ) I took to social media to spread through my neighborhood my story and if anyone found Howie to please call me. Howie was found. Against all odds Howie got away and with a last burst of energy he got into a neighbors backyard. That neighbor without even knowing my story set his mind to help. Howie was taken to the vet. Though Howie had survived the attack his leg was mangled. Howie's choices are limited. The vet said it would be very costly to have it fixed. $5000. Or they can amputate or Euthanize him. Euthanizing my boy is not an option. So Howie must have his leg amputated. Though it makes me sad, I would be sadder without him. Cost for this surgery is 1600.00. The longer the leg remains the better the chance of him getting infection. He is scheduled for tomorrow . So here I am begging for help for Howie. I don't want to lose this survivor.
