I am Taz, an elderly woman with a significant physical disability and use a motorized wheelchair to get around. I live in the community with caregivers to assist me with my personal care.I am retired, and on old age pension. I volunteer as a peer mentor at a facility for people with disabilities, assisting them in realizing their goals of moving into independent housing with the appropriate supports. Recently, there was a fire in my apartment, which caused significant smoke damage to my personal belongings. Due to my limited funds, I am unable to replace a lot of the lost items. Recently, as well, I have had to purchase some wheelchair parts and medical equipment, which are not covered by my insurance.I am requesting an amount of $10,000 to cover the items that I have lost and have to replace.Thank you for your understanding, kindness and generosity.
