Hello, my name is Zoe and after several recommendations from friends and family, I have decided to give go fund me a shot to help with our sweet Nala’s medical bills. My boyfriend and I got our 2 month old Nala from a rescue on Saturday. Unfortunately on Monday night, our sweet girl suffered from a dog bite to her face. We took her to the ER immediately and found out she has fractures in her upper and lower jaw, her nose, and her eye bone. Due to these injuries, she was in the ER for a couple of days. She now has a feeding tube, a tape muzzle to help with the jaw fractures, and one eye partially sutured closed. She will need several followups with the dentist and eye doctor over the next month or two, and monthly followups with the dentist when she is 4-8 months, and this is all if she is healing properly. There is a possibility she will need 1-2 of her adult teeth removed and her eye removed if her vision in that eye doesn’t come back. Puppies are already expensive, which we were prepared for the preventative medical bills for her. But since this happened so soon after we got her, we didn’t have time to get her pet insurance yet like we normally have for our dogs. The insurance company said that even though I have been with them for 4 years, this cannot be covered and any follow ups or complications from this will not be covered. Although we have had Nala for less than a week, she is already our world and we want to give her the best care we can in hopes that she doesn’t suffer her quality of life down the road from this. We were watching her like a hawk since she is so small and yet this still happened. Unfortunately no matter how hard you try to prevent anything from happening to your fur baby, things still happen. Any help is greatly appreciated, and if you meet Nala she will shower you in kisses, snuggles, and tail wags. Even through all the pain she is going through right now she still wags her tail all the time.
