Taylor's NYLF Trip: Berk or Bust!

Hello there! My name is Taylor Funrue, and I'm a student at Sherwood High School. I was nominated, still not sure how, for the National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering and Technology program. This is really exciting, since I plan to go into the engineering field in the future! This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity allows me to take classes at UC Berkeley, one of the top engineering schools in the world, as well as sit in on lectures, participate in projects and experiments, and I get to play with the big-boy engineering toys. 

While this is very, VERY exciting, Berkeley comes at a price, as usual.  For tution and travel, which the tution includes my room, linens for my room (please, I need sheets), on-campus meals, and of course, the most important thing, tution for the classes for which I will be receiving college credit for, it is about $4,000. This is a pretty large price tag for most things, but I won't experience this anywhere else, nor will the opportunity present itself again. I am aiming to reach this goal by the end of February to have tution paid and flights booked before severe deadlines.

Now, if for some reason $4000 is more than I need, the remaining money will be donated to another student in need or to a non-profit eductation foundation.
