Hello all, my name is Tommy Radovich from the Albert J. Hickman Post 460 American Legion and American Legion Riders and I am spearheading a fundraiser for our near and dear friend, bartender, and family member Miss Taylor Kelly. Taylor was involved in a serious roll over crash earlier this month while on her way home resulting in serious injuries requiring extensive surgeries. Among the many bumps and bruises, Taylor had to endure an operation that fused two of her upper vertebrae to avoid the chance of paralysis. The surgery has been a success so far but needless to say she will be in recovery and rehabilitation for months to come. Taylor was recently hired at Chaparral Elementary as a PE teacher but unfortunately her medical benefits had not taken effect prior to her accident. She was also borrowing the vehicle involved in the accident from another loving post member which she has made a commitiment to reimburse the cost of the vehicle in full.
A brief background on Taylor, she grew up in Santee, Ca. She always had the dream to play Division 1 softball at a university. She worked hard on and off the field to achieve the best grades and become the best player possible. Due to her parent's tight financial situations, she was only allowed to choose one sport to excel in and softball was her choice. Being totally focused in the classroom and on the field helped Taylor to not only be a four-year varsity starter but graduate with honors from Santana High School. She also achieved 1st team all CIF while at Santana. Her hard work and dedication landed her a full ride scholarship to the University of California, Berkeley where she graduate with a liberal arts degree with focus in gender and women's studies. Since returning to San Diego, Taylor has worked a various veteran's organizations as a bartender prior to accepting a physical education role at Chaparral Elementary.
We would like to encourage as many of you as possible to support Taylor in this very difficult time of recovery by donating to the GoFundMe which will directly help Taylor manage her rehabilitation and financial hardships caused by the unfortunate accident. Also, please share this link on your social media site to help spread the word.
Thank You for your time and consideration!
