My name is Taylor I am 17 years old and a senior at Grand Valley High School. I grew up riding and caring for horses and I've been working with horses for a few years now. My goal is to start a business focusing on providing professional hoof care services to horses throughout the Western Slope of Colorado.
At the moment, I’m volunteering at our local vet clinic and learning everything I possibly can about horse care.
My plan is to go to Wyoming School of Horseshoeing. It’s an 8-week course where I’ll learn how to trim and shoe horses the correct way and be ready to take the farrier exam. I also wanna go to a special forging workshop after so I can get better experience at building shoes from scratch and using the forge.
The total cost is a little over $10,000, and that includes school, tools, travel, food, lodging, and the forging training after. I’m gonna be paying for it all myself so I’m trying to earn, save, and raise what I can. Any help at all would mean the world to me and get me closer to making this happen.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I am very excited to start this educational journey!
