Hi everyone! Our family has been serving God and His people in Cambodia for a total of 10 years (3 years in Battambang, 4 years in the US to deal with a medical situation, and back to Cambodia for the past 7 years). We are so thankful for our ministry here, and are truly excited to see what fruit God will bring through us as we continue our ministry for years to come!

Last year, we had planned to take a home assignment/work assignment to the US, but with the COVID crisis, that trip had to be cancelled. Now, as a step of faith, we are planning to take the much needed trip to the US. Home assignments/work assignments are vital to missionary families for several reasons. As a ministry, it is our main opportunity to raise new financial support, to connect with our prayer and financial partners, while hopefully meeting new partners. It is also our opportunity to meet new interns to come work alongside us. As a family, it is our opportunity to connect with our family and friends, while helping our kids to have a sense of belonging in our home culture. This trip is also vital to us as Christians, as it will be a time to be ministered to and be refreshed.

Our plan is to travel to the US at the end of August, and fly back to Cambodia just after New Years. We will not have spent a Christmas in the US since 2013. The boys are so excited! Zach has not spent Christmas in the US since he was 2, so he doesn’t remember it at all.

We will be traveling by car from central California, through the pacific North West, back to central California, then to So. California across the southern states to Florida and back to California. This will be a great time of connecting with friends, partners, and future partners.  It will also be an opportunity to meet new interns. It will be a long trek, and will probably take around 2 1/2 months on the road, but we will return to Modesto, CA for the holidays.

The expenses of our home assignment/work assignment are not part of our regular ministry budget, so we have to fund raise specifically for these expenses.

WE HAVE A 3 TIERED PLAN FOR OUR FUNDRAISING
1 - Travel and transportation:  This will be the bulk of the funds needed. We do not have an amount for these yet, but will keep you updated.
-> Hire transportation to the Phnom Penh Airport with all of our luggage, and when we return (9 hour trip)
-> Airfare
-> Vehicle Rentals in the states
-> Motel/Hotels - during our travels on the road

2 - Increase in cost of living:
-> Food (especially while traveling)
-> 4G cell coverage for the boys so that will allow them to do their homeschooling while traveling
-> Other everyday items are much more expensive in the states

3 - Additional larger ticketed items:
->  New Passports that will expire (around $1,000 expedited)
-> COVID-19 tests and documentation for such in Cambodia ($150x5=750)

Funds that had been raised on the previous fundraiser for our home assignment 2020, will be posted on this campaign.
