Update 1-5-19
Thank you for your continued support of the Lech family. Taylor is currently at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln. Here is an update from Janet.

Taylor is staying busy and her days are full.  She is motivated and dedicated to work her hardest at therapies and is getting stronger.  We are so grateful for such amazing therapists.  Her physical therapist and she are both very driven and want to achieve goals, so they are a great pair and Taylor likes being pushed to achieve more and more.  She also has been working on getting caught up at school and has made significant progress in that area. In addition to all of these things, she as been handling chemo pretty good and we are almost at the end of the first round.  This includes some involvement at Madonna, as well as going to Children's in Omaha every two weeks.

I went back to work in December part-time and am planning to do the same in January.  Thank you all for your continual support - we appreciate the prayers, positive thoughts, texts, messages, etc.

If you are on this website, it is likely you know Taylor or her family personally or have heard about her the past several months.  Taylor began having back pain and numbness in her toes in May.  After several visits to her pediatrician, attempting physical therapy at two places, two orthopedic doctors, and several phone calls, pain and symptoms were becoming much worse.  The family found a neurosurgeon through a friend who immediately ordered an MRI of Taylor's spine specifically where she was having pain.  The MRI showed that she has a tumor in her spinal cord and surgery was done to try to remove it.

After a few weeks, Taylor went to Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota where she completed her second surgery to remove more of the tumor.  Currently, the family still waits for more information about the tumor, but what they do know is it is an extremely rare tumor that is not usually found in the spinal cord. Additional treatment will be determined once more information is available and rehab will begin when she is healed from the second surgery.

Taylor is one of the strongest, kindest, most lovable 15-year-olds around! She brings joy to all around her and loves to have fun!  During this time, Taylor has remained positive and her feisty self.  Janet and Shane are amazing parents who love their girls and want what is best for them. They are the first to lend a hand to those in need.

Now, it's time that we send love and support to Taylor and her family.  Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated.  It would help cover medical, travel, and the extended period of time Janet and Shane will be away from work.

Please spread the word. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
