Taylor Joy is a 19 year old with a six month old son who has tragically become very ill. On May 24th, Taylor woke unable to move her legs, walk or even go to the restroom unassisted. After three days of visiting doctors, emergency rooms and recieving no answers, her paralysis increased to where she was completely immobile. She was rushed to University Hospital early May 26, 2015, placed in ICU and diagnosed with Giullain-Barre Syndrome and Viral Meningitis. Giullain Barre affects 1 in 100,000 so it is rare.

Taylor's road to recovery will be a long struggle. According to the hospital medical staff if all goes as planned,  she will be in ICU for three weeks then begin rehabiliataton. About 30 percent of those with Guillain-Barré still have weakness after three years.

Taylor will not be able to care for her son or herself when she is released in a few weeks. While there will be many other medical expenses associated with the hospital, rehabilitation and aftercare which will be necessary, but of course, expensive, all that is needed is  to raise some funds to help cover the costs of childcare for her son and aftercare for Taylor until she can walk and take care of both of them again. This will give the family a little peace of mind.
