Hi, my name is Taylor Chau and I am currently in the 9th grade attending Brea Olinda High School. I am currently taking Japanese at my High School; the Japanese class has a Foreign Exchange Program and I am trying to raise funds so I may participate in this amazing opportunity to go to Japan for 10 days.

  
To take this hike through life I need to raise $2,000 for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

The total cost is $2,600 and I am paying $600 of this on my own.
 
Are you are wondering what this money is going to? 

I will tell you
 
- The flight to Japan.
- All transportation...boats, trains, and automobiles.
- Tour Guides when visiting Hanno, Tokyo, and local colleges, to name a few
- Meals during the trip
-Hosting a Japanese student for 10 days in my home

 
 As you can see I am doing my part to try and earn the money needed to go on this educational trip. This summer I will be working as a lifeguard in two different cities.
 
 
To begin saving money, I started tutoring a 5th grader this past October.
 

During the summer not only will I be lifeguarding but I will be doing sports also. I am currently on the high school swim team and soon  water polo will start again. 

In addition to my contributions, my Mom and Brothers are helping, but I need your help as well.

 One memory that I hold dear is when my father always told me to shoot for the stars and to shine as bright as the brightest star. My father died when I was six years old but even though he is not with me right now; I feel like he would be proud of me for shooting for this goal and for wanting to go explore a different country. I hope you can support me as I start my hike through life!
