As you may know, our sweet Taylor has suffered from Chronic Lyme Disease and multiple co- infections for the past 3 years. She has been enduring various intense treatment protocols since April 2016.

Prior to her diagnosis, Taylor had no option, but to drop out of school and stopped working completely. Her symptoms were so debilitating she could hardly make it out of bed for months.  Taylor suffers from more than forty symptoms, but to name a few are chronic pain, fatigue, muscle weakness, fevers, migraines, brain fog/ memory loss, heart palpitations, muscle spasms/twitches, sound/light sensitivity and severe nausea.

After the first year of extreme treatments, Taylor’s health improved in some ways, but she was not out of the woods completely.  In the past 6 months Taylor’s health has declined rapidly again leading her to more testing and finding more pieces to the puzzle. She was diagnosed with the highest mold levels her doctor had seen in her practice, Epstein-Barr virus, POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) a condition that affects her heart, MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome), severe mitochondrial dysfunction, Candida (yeast overgrowth in her blood and intestines), a parasitic infection and two strains of E. Coli. This has lead her to seek a more intense treatment protocol. As of two weeks ago, Taylor’s symptoms have worsened and have become even more debilitating than before. Her and her family have decided to travel to a treatment facility in Reno, Nevada for a minimum of six weeks in hope to bring Taylor healing and strength.

 

 What is Lyme Disease?

Lyme disease is caused by a spirochete—a corkscrew-shaped bacterium called Borrelia burgdorferi. Lyme is called “The Great Imitator,” because its symptoms mimic many other diseases. It can affect any organ of the body, including the brain and nervous system, muscles and joints, and the heart. Lyme Disease is an infection transmitted via tick or other insect. The CDC estimates 300,000 people are diagnosed in the US alone every year. If Lyme Disease is not diagnosed and treated early the spirochetes can spread and hide in different parts of the body making the disease difficult to treat.

 
Throughout Taylor’s journey fighting this disease we have never seen her kindness, selflessness, and compassion wavier. Witnessing someone so gracious and dear to us endure such pain has been both heart breaking and inspiring. Her strength and perseverance never fails to amaze us. She has fought this uphill battle with hope, a determined spirit, and the armor of God. Even during her hardest days, she has maintained her beautiful, humble, and compassionate character.  Thank you Taylor for showing us what unconditional love and faith look like.

 
Consequently, insurance companies do not cover a majority of Lyme Literate doctors. Last year alone Taylor’s parents have spent over $20,000 out of pocket. It is estimated that this treatment clinic will be 3,000-5,000 dollars per week not including living costs. Through this GoFundMe campaign, we pray that Taylor can spread awareness about Lyme, but also raise funds to lift any financial burden and stress that the necessary treatments bring among her family. Whether or not you are able to give financially, your emotional support is needed just as much as Taylor goes through this intensive treatment.
