On behalf of the Taylor Ranch Elementary School Support Team in Venice, FL, we are raising money to help three of our amazing staff members who have suffered significant losses due to Hurricane Ian
and no longer have permanent housing for their families.
Coach Atha Stuart is one of our amazing PE coaches that regularly sees all of our TRS students for PE class. He and his wife lived in a second-floor apartment of a clubhouse, and his home completely collapsed.
Amber Scott is one of our ESE paras that works with students in need throughout the school. She, her husband and three kids lived in a home on the Myakka River. Despite her home being on stilts, the flooding got so high that the lower half of her home was flooded as well. Her family lost many belongings on the property level including tractors, mowers, appliances, personal items and food damage.
A fourth-grade teacher, Sarah Doyle, her husband and two kids lived in a home in Englewood, FL. Due to the flooding, their home's foundation cracked and is now uninhabitable. Most of their belongings have also been destroyed in the home.
It breaks our hearts that these three lost their homes in the hurricane, and we want to do as much as possible to help them rebuild and find stable housing for their families. I speak for all when I say that any donations at all will be greatly appreciated!
