Taylor Dragicevich's Family Recover from Tragedy

My name is Cecilia Hyland and I'm putting this GoFundMe together for my Aunt, Cindy Dragicevich, and her family to help deal with funeral, memorial, and moving costs that sprung up after the murder of my cousin.

On May 20, 2023, Taylor Dragicevich tragically lost her life with her ex-boyfriend as the primary suspect in custody. Taylor had just spent the day with her family and was bringing in some of her garage sale finds when she was attacked in the parking lot outside her family's apartment. She was stabbed multiple times and left in the parking lot where her mother responded to her screams and attempted CPR until emergency services arrived.

Taylor passed away despite the best efforts of her mother and medical professionals. They also tried to fulfill Taylor's wish to be an organ donor and hopefully save the lives of others but due to the nature of the attack, this was not possible.

Taylor was only 28 years old with her whole life ahead of her doing everything she could to keep her life moving forward, including ending her 8-year relationship with her abusive ex-boyfriend. She even had filed a restraining order on March 8, 2023, which later in early May was violated, putting the ex-boyfriend in jail on May 10-11.

There was an opportunity to hold the ex-boyfriend accountable again on May 12 when he violated the restraining order, again. Authorities were notified but there was never any follow-up. Taylor might still be with us if there had been appropriate follow-through here.

Taylor deserved to live her life and bring her smile and positivity to her family, friends, and everyone around her. A sickening evil act took her from us and has left her family and friends reeling to deal with the fallout and pick up the pieces of their shattered lives without Taylor in it.

Taylor's immediate family would greatly appreciate any and all support at this time as they navigate their way through being blindsided by now having Memorial and Funeral expenses to cover along with finding a new place to live to escape the traumatic memories attached to their current apartment.

Average Cremation Funeral Cost: $7,000
Estimated Moving Costs: $3,000

We also intend to donate 10% of what this GoFundMe raises to the YWCA in downtown Kalamazoo, MI as they can (and do) help people in similar situations to what Taylor was going through before needing a restraining order. If our goal or more is reached there is a lot the YWCA can do with this donation including providing one month of housing for a victim of domestic violence and her children and providing legal services for a victim of abuse by an attorney.
