Tayleigh's Mercy Flight
Donation protected
On November 28th, 2018. Beth went in for her weekly OB visit at St. Peters Hospital in Helena, MT. She felt like she was having some cramping and was sent to labor and delivery where they determined she would be needing an emergency C-section. They prepped her and within an hour we were in the operating room. When Tayleigh was delivered, the nurses immediately knew something was wrong with her but, were unable to inform us at the time it was all happening. We sensed something was wrong when they all seemed to be in a panic and getting ahold of other people on call to come in immediately. They rushed her to the NICU in Helena. I fallowed to find out what exactly was going on while beth was not able to see her or hold her as she went into recovery. In the NICU, they determined rather quickly that they did not have the resources to support her in Helena. They immediately called The Mercy Flight response team from Great Falls, Mt who arrived within an hour, rushed in and intubated her. They prepped Tayleigh for the helicopter ride and were able to briefly stop by Beth's room so she could say goodbye through the incubator. I got into the car and immediately drove to Great Falls, MT to be with Tayleigh in the NICU while Beth had to remain in Helena during her recovery. Tayleigh wasnt wanting to breath on her own, as her lungs hadnt fully been developed yet. Currently she is stable but, needing a CPAP (continuous positive airway preasure) for breathing and a feeding tube for eating. As of now, the billing department and insurance are already contacting us for payment and we still have a long road ahead of us just adding to the cost of Tayleigh's support. Any support is Greatly appreciated.
