Abbey Ryder & Kara Popp are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Tayla Findeisen.

In July of this summer, during her annual mammogram, our amazing friend Tayla was diagnosed with very early stage breast cancer. Tomorrow, September 9th, she will be undergoing a lumpectomy in order to remove and biopsy the mass that was found along with surrounding tissue in hopes of removing all of the cancer cells. This procedure will be followed by rounds of radiation and hormone treatments over the next five years that will ideally leave Tayla with clean or negative margins indicating no other cancerous cells.

As you can imagine, Tayla is staying positive and upbeat as she prepares for this difficult journey. She’s very aware of just how much we are needed to lift her up, send positive affirmations and check-in’s. She, her fiancé Kevin and her son, Silas are extremely grateful to all of you for the love and support you’ve all already shown since she’s shared her news.

One of the frustrating and daunting aspects that lies ahead is the prospect of the "unknown" as she navigates this next chapter. Most importantly, how she’ll be feeling and how much time she’ll need to be out of work. Her employers have allowed her as much time as needed to focus on her recovery. This has also led to Tayla and Kevin's tough decision to ultimately postpone their wedding that was planned for this October.

We have started this GoFundMe for this most humble human because she would never ask for this kind of help on her own. Our goal is to help give her the gift of being able to fully focus and spend any energy she has on recovery, healing, and prioritizing time with her loved ones.

To know Tayla is to have a friend. To spend time with her is to see that she emanates love. She is a shining light to all that are near her, from her close-knit hospitality industry spanning out to the community as a whole. She is an incredible and loyal friend with a penchant for listening and making you feel not only heard, but understood, which is a rare gift. She is a beautiful soul, loving fiancée, amazing mama to Silas, wonderful daughter, supportive sister, and vibrant friend with a smile that warms the world around her.

We want to say Thank You on behalf of Tayla and her family for your help and support for our dear friend. Hold her in your hearts and surround her with love. She is one of the nicest, most genuine people on this earth facing this challenge bravely and with a positive mindset.
