Hi, my name is Melby! I am an animator, creator of webcomic series "Theratpy", and this was my first year making almost all of my money off of my own artwork! The IRS has hit me with a huge amount due for my business taxes, enormous enough that to pay it on my own it will take years to pay. I'm filing for an extension to give myself more time, but the stress of the debt is insane! When I needed to save for top surgery, it took me nearly three years to save this amount, and they're asking for it in less than a month.

UPDATE AS OF JUNE 2024:

Thanks to all of you guys's help with advice, suggesting deductions, giving financing links and options, I've successfully filed for an extension and have a tax attorney to help me out!! As of now, with all of your help, the amount TOTAL that I owe is $965 for taxes, and $350 for attorney help! While this is still a tough ask with my current income and budget, it is MUCH better than the original quoted $4500 when trying to handle my taxes on my own. THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, I am on a payment plan where this should be paid off fully in the next three-four months! If you would like to donate at all to help with the last amount, it is of course welcome, but I am no longer in a crisis state and as long as nothing else crazy happens in the next few months I should be all good :,))

I'm 23, I use he/they, I'm transmasc and genderfluid! I'm a mixed person of color who started animating in middle school, and have been drawing for longer than I can remember. Currently I make my living drawing anthro rats! In particular a rat named Dr. Zo helping his new client, Ratticus, with his intrusive thoughts, which range from a comedic nuisance to horribly disturbing.
