Hello, My name is De’Janay

It is with heavy heart that I am writing this message.

My mother Tawanna Amie, Received her Wings! After a four years fight with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. 43 days ago, she would find out she was in a new fight this time with Stage 4 Brain Cancer. As you can imagine the news was devastating, not only my mother, but to myself, as well as my brother and sister.

We rushed to seek holistic treatment, since she had already experienced 3 plus years of chemotherapy. Unfortunately the cancer was very aggressive, and left us without any other options. We ended up back in emergency room.

On January 31, we were told our mother had 3 to 7 days of life expectancy. During that time we spent every available moment by her side. As family members from near and far joined us, we watched while our mother spirits soared. She laughed with us, and with every ounce of her being tried her hardest to talk with us. We really thought things were turning around, she appeared to be strong. We were hopeful that she would remain with us for at least another 6 months.

On February 7, 2024 at 12:00pm our breath was taken away, as our Mother Tawanna Amie, surrounded by family took her last breath.

Our Beloved mother leaves behind me 28 my brother, 22 and our baby sister, 19, a 3 years granddaughter, her mother, brothers and a sister, along with a host of cousins and friends. We know life throws curveballs however, this one we weren’t ready for.

We humbly ask for any assistance possible in helping us give our mother a proper home going celebration. Whatever you can donate will be very much appreciated with our love and gratitude.
