Makiya has been diagnosed with Colitis. We are looking for some help with all the medical bills that we have accrued during her diagnosis and for her up and coming surgery.
Below is a picture of her from Aug when we started this whole process. She started with bleeding from her bottom and we soon had her in with a gastroenterologist within a week and we did a colonoscopy to check her insides. As it turned out the swelling and sores inside were so bad that anything that passed through her bowels would cut the bowel wall and cause sores.

In September we did a pill cam to make sure no other parts of the body were effected by what was happening on her insides.
We started on a bunch of different medications and in Dec they put her on steroids. In January she had gained so much weight that it looked like you could poke her and she would pop. (Second photo) She started gaining so much weight that it was effecting her muscles and was in pain all the time and it was hard to move around.

We took her off the hard steroids and put her on a much lighter one in January. She had another colonoscopy in January and there was no change in her bowels. We started some new medication to see if we could get her some relief. January and February were touch and go for a while with blood draws all most every week and in and out of the doctor weekly. In March we started with Remicade infusions at the Hospital to see if that drug would work. (Pics below of the remicade infusions) The Remicade started to give her side effects of being sick and during the last infusion her vitals dropped really low. After the drop of vitals the doctor decided that we would switch her from Remicade to Humira. She started at home Humira shots in April.
On April 13th she had another colonoscopy to check and see if her insides were healing. When the scope was done in January she had 9 cm that were infected. However when the scope was done on the 13th the infected area had grown to 40 cm that were infected.
We are now waiting for the doctors to decide which surgery will be best for her and her condition.
Even if you can only donate a few dollars it would help us pay all her medical bills and pay for items for treatment.
Her surgery will make it so she has a stoma (Colostomy bag) for 6 to 8 weeks and then we will be able to reverse it. Please donate and help out our baby girl.
