Dee's Journey

This is a fundraiser to help raise money for Dee. A well loved member in her family and in her community.
Dee had been suffering with tooth, sinus pain and headaches throughout much of summer 2021, while the world was in the grip of the pandemic access to GP’s was restricted. Despite a few trips to A&E and MedOCC and after trying to see the doctor many times with no face to face or video consultation, her symptoms worsened.
During this time she was given two consecutive antibiotics which we informed them didn't work. Then for only pain relief to be prescribed to alleviate the symptoms, resulting the cause was never properly investigated, allowing her condition to go by undetected.
In September 2021 she was taken into hospital, and it changed our lives forever. It's been a real battle, through ups and downs and fighting to get the help that she deserves.
Dee was found to have a brain abscess, and evidence of a stroke. She has undergone multiple major surgeries over the last 20 months and is currently in a rehab facility. This has not given us the support and recovery that we expected, and now we require more support for Dee than we initially thought. As there have been and continue to be setbacks in this whole process.
The lockdown at that time was/has been detrimental to Dee’s progress, but now that her family and friends are able to visit once again, she is showing improvement week by week.
Learning to walk properly again, to speak again, she's progressing more with depth of conversation.
This is all in aid to help share her journey and get some support. By no means do you have to donate, if you would like to share that would be appreciated. With a long road ahead and further surgery to come, Dee is facing one of the biggest challenges she has ever faced.
All funds will be going to support of her and her immediate family, we are still unsure where this road will take us but we appreciate you all for you blessings this far.
