Tate's cut for Cambodia
On September the fifth I will be cutting off twelve inches of my hair in order to donate it to ‘The Little Princess Trust’; this is a charity that creates high-quality wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer.
I have had long hair for as long as I can remember and it just seems to keep growing, so I decided to take the plunge and chop it all off in aid of a good cause.
Next summer I will be embarking on a four-week expedition to Cambodia with ‘Camps International’. Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in Asia, the aim of the expedition is to improve their standard of living in a sustainable way. One-third of Cambodia’s population lives below the poverty line; we will be building schools for children and undertaking other projects in order to improve their quality of life. This expedition will cost £4000 for me to embark on, 40% of this money will go towards building materials etc. so, as a result, I am aiming to raise a total of £2000. My parents are funding the remaining £2000.
The haircut will be taking place in SG Hair (Sam Goddard Hair) in Sandhurst and will be performed by Shelley. Shelley has been cutting my hair for as long as I can remember and she did a wonderful job of my year eleven prom hair. She has been in the industry for 10 years now, and I wouldn’t want anyone else doing the job.
Please help me to support these two worthy charities.
Thank you,
Tate Farman
