Tate Ellinger Memorial Scholarship

We suddenly lost the most amazing son, brother, uncle and friend on July 24, 2022 at the young age of 46. Tate was vacationing in San Diego with his niece and nephew when he suddenly collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. This was a complete shock to all of us. Tate was healthy and active and enjoying life after retiring from the family business a couple of years ago. He leaves a massive hole in the hearts of all who knew "Tate the Great". Tate fiercely loved his family and friends.

I am starting this fundraiser to continue Tates legacy and his love and passion for the Iowa Hawkeyes football team. As a family, we decided this was the perfect way to keep Tates name and memory alive. This is truly what we think he would want. He would often travel to Iowa to games during football season and wouldn't miss a game on TV.

We want to start a scholarship in Tates name for an incoming Freshman to the University of Iowa who has been accepted to play football. How exciting will it be to have a player we can all support and cheer for during the season knowing Tate (we) helped him accomplish his dreams.
