Many of you may (or may not) know the crisis that our own family has been facing since February 17, 2020. The “C” word has struck our family in a very deep way. Amidst the chaos going in the world today- our very own pillar of strength has been faced with the biggest challenge of his life. Tatay (aka Miguel ) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Adenocarcinoma. It has metastasized to his brain, bones, spine, and liver. The positive: it’s a fairly common type of tumor. The oncologist found a unique targeted treatment for him. Chemo with immunotherapy- that can successfully attack this BEAST. Giving Tatay the quality time HE DESERVES. His strength and spirit have not wavered ONCE. Each time the test results revealed more cancer- he never stopped smiling. He is faithful, humble, grateful, and appreciative for everything life has given him. He will “fight with every breath he has”! The not so positive: are the realities every cancer patient is faced with. The financial responsibilities of healing. The copay for this treatment alone is $2900 for 30 pills. The copay...This is after insurance contributes their part.  He will need at least four months of treatment to help dissolve his tumors and regain his strength. Giving him a better capability of fighting this horrible disease. I come to you on behalf of our family who is doing everything humanly possible to help him. This world is in crisis- our world is in crisis. We are in need of prayers, thoughts, words of encouragement, support, and love. Hearing from you confirms that we are not alone in this. Together we are stronger.
