COVID-19 Support for Tatay Neo
Donation protected
Hello all, my family is fundraising money for my Tatay in the Philippines who is currently admitted in the hospital due to the COVID-19 virus.
The pictures attached were taken prior to Tatay Neo being transferred to another hospital for higher level of care. During this time, my Kuya Paulo was taking care of him and keeping him company. Tatay is no longer allowed to have any visitors at this time until he recovers.

My grandfather, Ireneo “Neo” Lorenzo whom I call Tatay, is a 79 year old happy-go-lucky type of person who just recently lost his wife a few years ago. Since then, it has been extremely hard for him to go through life without his best friend. In the PI, people are not given much PPE or other resources to protect themselves and for people like Tatay Neo, they don’t have the luxury to stop working. My tatay owns a small shop which is probably where he contracted the virus a few weeks ago and was turned down from several hospitals due to the amount of patients already admitted due to COVID-19. We have not been given the opportunity to speak with him since he was hospitalized and is currently in the ICU alone, reported to be scared and wanting to go home. We just want to let him know that his loved ones are here for him and that we miss him so much.
As you may know, my family is not one to ask for help when it comes to financial struggles. We try to find ways to manage as a family. But the rising costs that has built up for my Tatay’s hospital bill has exponentially increased within a few days and it has surpassed the amount that we could afford at this time. He is still in critical condition after going through a hemoperfusion but is still struggling to breathe and lower his blood pressure. Although we would like to continue supporting him, there are just no other options as the hospital is asking for us to pay before they can proceed with services and we can’t do anything about it. It hurts to know that we have compiled so much money to send for him and it not being enough to end the pain that he is in. Not only is there the worry of my grandfather getting worse, but the financial aspect hindering his healing process.
Please, if you could donate at least a dollar to help us move towards decreasing the pain my tatay is experiencing, we would be forever grateful. And if you are unable to, we are still thankful and appreciate the time you took to read this. Whether it’s prayers or even just keeping him in your thoughts, we will appreciate anything that will help him regain his strength and freedom. Thank you.
