Task Force Wickford - Noori Family Support Fund

Greetings!

My name is Matthew McCoy, and I am a volunteer with Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island (diiri.org). I am the volunteer coordinator for Task Force Wickford, the sponsor circle established to support the arrival, transition, and resettlement of the Noori family.

 

The Noori Family arrived in Wickford, North Kingstown, Rhode Island, in January 2022 after being evacuated from Afghanistan in August 2021 as part of Operation Allies Refuge (OAR). Naseer, Diana, Mohibullah, Tasnim, and Hasidullah joined our community after spending a brief time at Afghan refugee safe havens in Qatar, Italy, and at Joint Base McQuire - Dix - Lakehurst, New Jersey. The family is here in the United States under the humanitarian parole program. Because of the takeover of their country by the Taliban, the Noori family would like to make the United States their new home. They need our temporary financial help to sustain them while they get on their feet and become self-sufficient.
