Tash's Healing after Top Surgery

Hi, my name is Tash (they/them) and I’m a curator, editor, and humanitarian worker living in Queens, New York. I’ll be getting the first stage of my top surgery on January 27 and I’m fundraising for my recovery expenses. I feel very grateful that my health insurance will cover the cost of the two surgeries (a few months apart), though I will not be able to work while I’m recuperating. Transition and sustainment needs have made it necessary for me to shift away from the humanitarian work I was doing previously, so I’m in the midst of a professional transition as well.

I’m reaching out to request community support to buoy me through the coming month of recovery after my surgery. These funds will help me cover that month’s costs of rent, food, utilities, pre- and post-op medical supplies, rides to surgery / post-op appointments, etc. I’m tremendously grateful for any support you can contribute that would allow me to focus on healing for some of that time. I look forward to returning to my work and my path with a body that feels more aligned with who I know myself to be.
