Taryn's Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Dearest Friends,
Earlier this year, we were heartbroken to learn that our beloved Taryn was diagnosed with hormone positive invasive ductal carcinoma… in short, cancer. We are so grateful that this is a treatable form of cancer and we’re preparing to support Taryn through the difficult months ahead. Things are moving quickly. There’s a surgery coming up before the end of February, and after the recovery from surgery, they’ll be starting with chemo.
At home, their spouse Morgan and teenage son Panda are fully engaged to support, as is their daughter Kyla, but Morgan himself is in recovery from a serious back injury. Taryn and their family are going to need some help here. We need your help here. Our goal is to prevent this period of difficulty from causing any additional strain or hardship for the family. We are co-ordinating local supporters to assist with keeping the family fortified and sustained during this treatment and recovery period. Your assistance will make a deep positive difference.
Times are especially tight right now, but even a small donation will make a difference. If you can’t afford a monetary gift, please help with spreading the word and stay tuned for other opportunities to show support.
Taryn is an artist in many media, a former birth worker and has most recently been working with Clayworx Ceramic Arts Learning Centre in London, supporting other artists as they learn their craft and helping to promote their work in the gallery shop. Taryn is also a volunteer and organizer with a historical education and interpretation group (the Society for Creative Anachronism). Those of us that have the privilege of knowing Taryn know them as a deeply caring and supportive person. You might know Taryn as a teacher, a friend, a hiking companion, a community builder, an artist, or a birth or postpartum care provider. Maybe Taryn has supported you in learning to throw your first pot at Clayworx, maybe you know Taryn as a fellow community member in The SCA, or maybe Taryn helped deliver your baby! Taryn is supportive, nurturing and constantly working to support and care for others in their community. It’s their turn for some extra support now.
All gifts to this campaign will go directly to Taryn to lessen the financial strain of being off work while recovering.
